Eldoret City is set to take centre stage this December as it hosts the inaugural KOROM Business Exposition & Conference, a bold new platform designed to empower young entrepreneurs, SMEs, investors, and cultural innovators from across Kenya.

Scheduled for December 17–19, 2025 at the Eldoret Sports Club, the conference is a strategic expansion of the popular KOROM Festival and will run under the theme “The Business of Transformation: Empowering People, Innovating Industries, Inspiring Growth.” The initiative introduces a powerful blend of enterprise, innovation, and culture, positioning Eldoret as a rising hub for business and cultural enterprise engagement.

According to the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) Economic Survey 2025, Uasin Gishu County hosts over 44,000 registered businesses, with approximately 25,000 active SMEs. Youth participation in business within Eldoret City has grown significantly over the last five years, highlighting a vibrant and rapidly expanding entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Speaking on the vision behind the expansion, KOROM Festival Director Elvis Kittony noted that the expo and conference aim to go beyond celebration by creating tangible impact.

> “KOROM has always been a celebration of community and culture. This year, we are expanding its purpose by giving young innovators and local businesses a space to access markets, knowledge, and networks that will culminate into development,” he said.

The Korom Expo & Business Conference is expected to attract over 5,000 expo visitors and 500 business leaders, creating a powerful meeting point for stakeholders in agribusiness, fintech, manufacturing, education, health, tourism, technology, innovation, and the creative economy. Attendees can expect a dynamic three-day programme featuring keynote addresses, panel discussions, investor roundtables, mentorship clinics, and a vibrant exhibition spotlighting some of Eldoret’s most innovative youth-led enterprises.

Beyond the conference, the experience seamlessly transitions into the Korom Festival on December 20, where culture meets commerce through music, cultural showcases, artisan markets, and interactive experiences for families and young people. This unique integration of business and culture sets KOROM apart as one of the most distinctive events in the region.

Kittony added that the long-term goal is to position Eldoret as a centre for enterprise and cultural tourism, while stimulating economic activity across hospitality, retail, and service sectors.

Ultimately, the KOROM Expo & Business Conference 2025 aims to serve as a catalyst for job creation, partnerships, and sustainable economic development in one of Kenya’s most promising regions, reinforcing Eldoret’s growing reputation as a city of opportunity.
