OVER 1000 RESIDENTS MOVE TO COURT TO BLOCK EVICTION FROM NJIRU LAND

Over 1000 persons living in the disputed Njiru land have filed a case challenging the decision to be evicted from the property that belongs to late politician Gerishon Kirima, who passed on in December 2010.
The residents want the case to be certified as urgent and the eviction order delivered on October 23 be temporarily stayed pending a hearing and determination of their case.

“This court be pleased to order for a stay of execution of the judgment issued 23rd October pending hearing and determination of this application,” reads court papers.

It is their claim they have been residing in the disputed land for over 40 years -50 years and the said judgment will affect them
