Nairobi, Kenya — November 4, 2025

As Africa continues to position itself as a global economic powerhouse, Kenya is once again taking center stage — this time as host of one of the continent’s most influential finance and accounting gatherings. The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) will bring together over 1,000 delegates for the Africa Members Convention 2025 (AMC2025) in Mombasa, reaffirming the country’s growing reputation as a hub for professional and economic excellence.

Finance Professionals Called to Drive Africa’s Transformation

The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) has called on finance and accounting professionals across Africa to lead the continent’s transformation toward Agenda 2063 — Africa’s vision for inclusive growth and sustainable development.

This comes ahead of the fifth ACCA Africa Members Convention (AMC2025), scheduled from December 3 to 5, 2025, at the Sarova Whitesands Beach Resort & Spa, Mombasa. The event will convene finance leaders, policymakers, and business influencers from across the continent to explore strategies for sustainable and ethical transformation.

Leading an Evolved Profession for a Changed World

Under the theme “Leading an Evolved Profession for a Changed World,” the convention will tackle critical issues defining the future of the accounting profession — from artificial intelligence and climate action to risk management, governance, mental health, and diversity.

“Africa’s Agenda 2063 aspires to a prosperous continent built on sustainable development. Finance professionals must lead this transformation,” said Jamil Ampomah, ACCA Director – Africa. “We need to drive sustainability, promote social value, and leverage technology to create the Africa We Want.”

Key speakers include Ayla Majid, ACCA Global President, and H.E. Abdullswamad Nassir, Governor of Mombasa County.

Redefining Accountancy for a Sustainable Future

ACCA is also in the process of redesigning its global qualification to redefine accountancy in the context of today’s dynamic economic environment. The new approach integrates profitability with ethics, sustainability, and digital transformation — equipping accountants with the agility to lead in times of volatility.

George Njari, ACCA’s Head of East Africa Cluster, emphasized the importance of innovation in the public sector:

“Technologies like data analytics and AI can strengthen efficiency and transparency. But we must also create governance frameworks to responsibly manage these changes.”

Celebrating Africa’s Financial Leadership

The convention will also feature the Africa Chief Financial Officer (ACFO) Awards on December 4, 2025, recognizing outstanding CFOs whose leadership is advancing innovation, sustainability, and business resilience across the continent.

Why AMC2025 Matters

More than a professional gathering, AMC2025 is a platform shaping Africa’s economic direction. By fostering collaboration between finance experts, policymakers, and educators, the event seeks to strengthen Africa’s financial systems, inspire ethical leadership, and empower professionals to build a sustainable future for generations to come.
