Nikita Kering on the ‘Top 100’ Kenyans list

Kenyan Songstress Nikita Kering has been nominated on the Top 100 Kenyans list. It has been a good year for the young artist after she won two awards in the AFRIMA awards and gotten massive success on her debut album ‘A side of me’.

In an interview with Spotify, Nikita said she started singing at the age of 9 years and that she first sang a vernacular song to 3000 people who were all left stunned after her performance and that was the cement she needed to get to the next level and maintain doing music.

Born on February 26th, 2002 in Nairobi, Kenya, the 18-year-old is an only daughter and has 3 brothers. Nikita attended Riara Springs Academy, Kilimani Junior Academy, Nairobi Academy, and then to Brookhouse International School where she pursues a Business in Technology Course specializing in Music Performance, Business, Marketing, and Production.

She then spent a lot of time working on her music while juggling with school and made a name for herself. She is also an actress having performed at several plays and school productions.

The young and famous Kenyan musician recently received two awards in the Afrima Awards in Lagos, Nigeria. She received awards for the best female artist in East Africa and best Artist R&B and soul and has already bagged a brand ambassador job with Samsung Kenya.
