Lovers of local reggae have a reason to smile because of the upcoming Homegrown reggae fest that will be taking place on the 12th of December at the Nairobi Street Kitchen.

The event has been organized by Kenya Reggae Protocol and ReggeaLize it Vibes 100 and Roots Radio. The reggae-only event will bring together some of the notable names in the local reggae music together. Some of the artists performing include award-Winning Songwriter and Singer Cathy Matete, Vocalist Lavosti, singer Lucy Lugano, Producer, and Singer Shamir, Salma Queen, Nile Dawta, Mariah Ngoma, Becky Muthoni, Kare, and Michael Bundi.

The performances of the day will be backed by the roots connection band, nice it band, and the vibe right band. Performing alongside the bands at the event will be Dj Heatrical, Selector Sir Henry, Dj Elton, and Dj Lady Val.

The event is part of a series by local reggae event organizers to bring reggae lovers to enjoy the culture and music. The event comes at the backdrop of the reopening of the event scene which had been closed for more than a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
