In just the first seven months of 2025, a fresh crop of Kenyan artists has taken over the airwaves and digital platforms, breathing new life into the music scene with emotionally rich lyrics, genre innovation, and strong online traction. From soulful RnB to Afro-house club bangers, this new school is proving that Kenya’s next musical chapter is already being written — and it sounds amazing.
Leading the charge is Kinoti, the smooth-voiced RnB singer whose track “Nitangoja” exploded on YouTube and TikTok, earning praise from both fans and music commentators. Platforms like Bloga Flani have hailed him as the poster child of Kenya’s new RnB era, with his lyrical vulnerability and vocal control setting a fresh standard.
Njerae has also carved a name in the alternative RnB space. Signing with Universal Music Group East Africa in late 2024, she has maintained a strong presence with singles like “Same Page” and “Ni Wewe”. Njerae’s sound is experimental, emotional, and polished — a mix that has earned her editorial features and steady streaming numbers, including highlights in Wakilisha’s “Artists to Watch in 2025.”

For lovers of hip hop and genre fusion, 4MR Frank White has delivered a game-changer. His album Taigwa Goma combines lyrical depth with Afro-RnB and Arbantone beats, offering a street-smart yet soulful listening experience. With his storytelling skills and relatable themes, Frank White is quickly becoming a favorite among underground heads and critics alike.
On the production side, DJ Mura is shaping the nightlife with his Afro-house and Amapiano-infused sets. Known for his vibrant YouTube mixes and event appearances across Nairobi, Mura is responsible for some of the biggest club anthems this year, bridging local roots with global electronic vibes.
Also rising fast is We Are Nubia, a promising girl duo blending Afropop with alternative energy. Their single “Niko Sawa” has been praised for its confidence and catchy chorus, marking them as a future force in both live shows and online streams.

Rounding out the list is Iyanah, whose sultry vocals and singles like “Diani” and “Truth” have established her as a growing voice in Kenyan pop-RnB. Her performance schedule and playlist presence across East Africa show her expanding appeal.
Together, these six artists represent a new generation of Kenyan music — genre-fluid, career-focused, and powered by strong fan engagement. They’re not just riding the wave — they are the wave.
